How we regulate rail access

Prior to 1 November 2018, we assessed and approved rail access arrangements and conducted reviews of the Victorian rail access regime.

Prior to 1 November 2018, we approved or rejected rail access arrangements, produced codes and guidelines and conduct reviews of the rail access regime.

We did this by:

assessing and approving rail access arrangements
resolving disputes relevant to access arrangements under our Rail Access Dispute Resolution Guideline
conducting reviews of the Victorian rail access regime.

The Minister for Public Transport and Transport for Victoria now administers the new rail access regime.
