Project-based activities help businesses access incentives for large and custom Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) projects.
Project-based activities
Overview
The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program helps Victorians reduce their energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions by providing access to discounted energy efficient products and services. Read more about the program and how we regulate it.
Project-based activities help businesses access incentives for large and custom Victorian Energy Upgrades projects.
They move away from deemed activities to allow businesses flexibility to access incentives and offset the cost of their energy efficiency improvement projects.
The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) has more information on using project-based activities methods for custom upgrades.
Available methods under project-based activities
Uses industry-standard measurement and verification techniques to calculate energy savings.
Uses a building’s energy performance rating before and after the upgrade to determine energy savings.
Get involved
Businesses and energy consumers can become accredited themselves. If you are not yet a Victorian Energy Upgrades accredited person, find out how to become accredited.
To engage an accredited person, you can find a list on the Register of Accredited Persons.
Subcontractors can also participate in project-based activities, through accredited businesses engaging them to undertake installations, measurements or provide other professional services on their behalf.
Victorian energy efficiency certificates (VEECs)
Information about creating and registering VEECs is available on the Victorian energy efficiency certificates webpage.
Processing times
The table below shows the typical number of business days that we have taken to make a decision, once we have received an application.
These timeframes represent the time from receiving an application to when we make a decision. They include the time the application is with us and do not include time taken by an applicant to respond to a request for further information.
Processing times for project-based activities applications are usually very quick. But the time it takes us to assess an application will depend on:
- how long it takes an applicant to respond to requests for information
- the complexity of the project.
You should contact us if your project has short timeframes.
Response time (days) | |||
---|---|---|---|
Average since start of PBA | Average over last 12 months | Average over last 6 months | |
Scoping plan | 1.1 | 1.8 | 1.9 |
Project plan | 11.2 | 28.7 | 29.5 |
Impact report | 9.5 | 14.6 | 13.6 |
Please note that due to high volumes, processing times may currently take significantly longer than average.
Total timeframes may be longer depending on how long you take to respond to us if we ask for further information.
