I'm a Specialist Advisor in Compliance and Enforcement for the Energy division at the commission.
I joined the commission after past roles at the Office of Public Prosecutions, Consumer Affairs Victoria, Environment Protection Authority Victoria and Corrs Chambers Westgarth. I've had many conversations with friends of mine who still work in private practice. There are some misconceptions about the public sector, and the reasons people serve in it. I've found that it is a source of important, difficult and interesting work that isn't available anywhere else. My job at the commission is busy, exciting and intellectually challenging.
I'm so impressed by the commission's willingness to invest in high-quality professional development for its staff and really admire its commitment to being a world-class regulator that protects the interests and wellbeing of Victorians.
When I'm not advising on the strategic use of compliance and enforcement powers, I'm a joey scout leader named Pelican! Alongside my law degree, I studied fine art. Not many people know this - maybe not even my colleagues - but I've had a work exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra!
