Essential stories: Amanda from the People and Culture team
14 March 2023
I’m currently the Chief People and Culture Officer at the commission, a wonderful 12 month opportunity afforded to me by the incumbent taking some well deserved long-term leave.
I started in the P&C team back in 2020 and had about 8 weeks in the office before we were working from home. It was so rewarding to work with the business to pivot to working remotely and truly supporting employee wellbeing. We learned so much about our colleagues during the pandemic and helped support great strategies to keep people connected. Online training became the norm and we were able to bring in lots of different sessions, including a mindfulness series that was really well received.
I’ve spent the last 12 months working in our Energy division, working closely with the Executive Director of Energy run her office. It was a brilliant stint and I learned so much about what we do, and the tremendous effort that goes into protecting Victorian consumers.
Outside of work I am passionate about travel, so I am very happy to be out and about again. I love staying active and cycling to work gives me the chance to use our fabulous end of trip facilities! You'll also likely find me enjoying good food and drinks, and thoroughly spoiling my two cats and dog.
