Simply Energy paid $300,000 in penalties after alleged breaches of the Energy Retail Code relating to explicit informed consent.

Simply Energy has paid $300,000 following the issue of 15 penalty notices by the commission.

We alleged that Simply Energy failed to obtain the explicit informed consent before transferring customers to Simply Energy on 15 occasions between February 2017 and September 2018.
