Overview
Every year, we publish trends in electricity and gas market offers for Victorian households and small businesses.
This data was previously released in the commission’s Victorian Energy Market Report (VEMR). The commission ceased publishing the VEMR in 2025. The commission’s reporting on the energy market is now centrally located on the Victorian Energy Market Reporting Hub.

Key findings for 2025-26
Electricity offers remained stable over the past year
- Median residential electricity offers rose by 1 per cent compared with 2024–25
- Median SME electricity offers fell by 1 per cent compared with 2024–25
Gas offers increased, especially for residential customers
- Median residential gas offers rose by 5 per cent compared with 2024–25
- Median SME gas offers rose by 2 per cent compared with 2024–25
Medium retailers offered some of the lowest prices
- Medium retailers offered some of the most competitive electricity prices
- Medium and small retailers offered some of the cheapest gas prices
- Small retailers also had the most expensive electricity and gas offers
