Victorian Midday Power Saver
Overview
Overview
The Victorian Midday Power Saver (MPS) is a standing offer mandated by the Victorian Government, introduced from 1 October 2026. It is designed to provide households with a window of electricity usage at no charge. The purpose is to incentivise households who can shift their electricity use to benefit from lower cost electricity in the middle of the day. The MPS is not available for small business customers.
The Government has initially set the prices for the MPS that electricity retailers must offer. MPS prices to apply from 1 July 2027 will be set by us, on the basis of efficient costs that retailers need to recover to provide electricity to Victorian customers. The MPS is designed for customers who are able to benefit by changing when they consume electricity throughout the day and will therefore not necessarily be the best offer available to you.
